Samantha L. Dawson, from the Selkirk First Nation in the Yukon, is an Indigenous law student and journalist. She completed her Bachelor of Journalism degree at Ryerson University in 2012 and is currently in her final year of the Juris Doctor program at the University of British Columbia working towards a dual specialization in Aboriginal law and social justice. Samantha has worked as a newspaper reporter and as a communications person with First Nations, and volunteers with the Yukon Aboriginal Women’s Council. She is set on finding new ways to tell Indigenous stories. Samantha is also a Gordon Foundation Jane Glassco Northern Fellow, which focuses on creating Northern policy solutions.
